Karl von Lechler

Karl Johann Friedrich Lechler , from 1897 von Lechler , (born June 28, 1820 in Großbottwar , † May 25, 1903 in Ludwigsburg ) was prelate and general superintendent of Ulm .

Life

After the state examination , he attended the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Urach from 1831 to 1838 and then studied theology at the Tübingen monastery until 1842 . During his studies in 1838 he became a member of the Tübingen royal society Roigel . His doctorate as Dr. phil. took place in Tübingen in 1843 . This was followed by positions as a clergyman in Unterweissach in 1842, Eningen unter Achalm in 1843, then after a study trip in 1844 in Degerloch and in 1845 in Langenburg , before he returned to the monastery in Tübingen in 1847 as a repeater . In 1849 he went to Winnenden as a clergyman , where he also worked at the Winnental Sanatorium , and in 1861 to Nürtingen .

In 1864 he became dean in Calw , then from 1878 in Heilbronn . In 1884 he was appointed prelate and superintendent general of Ulm . In this function he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg estates from 1884 until his retirement in 1897 . There he joined the Free Association in 1895 . In 1903 he was one of the leading co-founders of the German Evangelical Church Committee .

In addition, from 1869 he was a long-time member of the Evangelical Synod .
