Karolina Tymińska
Karolina Tymińska (born October 4, 1984 in Świebodzin ) is a former Polish heptathlete .
Career
Karolina Tymińska was eighth in the heptathlon at the 2001 World Youth Championships in Debrecen . At the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 2005 , she finished eighth with 4,374 points in the pentathlon . The next year she could not finish the heptathlon at the European Championships in Gothenburg and was eliminated in the long jump with 6.34 m in the qualification. In 2007 she finished seventh at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 4494 points and 15th at the World Championships in Osaka with 6092 points. In 2008 she was sixth at the Indoor World Championships in Valencia with 4580 points and at the Olympic Games in Beijing with a personal best of 6428 Score seventh. The result of the Olympic Games was later corrected after the doping disqualification of the Russian Tatyana Chernova and Tymińska moved up one place. The following year she came in fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Turin with 4542 points and had to end the heptathlon at the World Championships in Berlin early. In 2010 Tymińska took sixth place at the World Indoor Championships in Doha with 4575 points, after the disqualification of Chernova, the Pole moved up to fifth place. Four months later she reached fifth place at the European Championships in Barcelona with 6230 points. After the disqualification of Chernova, she moved up to fourth place.
At the European Indoor Championships in Paris the following year, she came fourth with 4612 points. In the summer season she improved her personal best at the World Championships in Daegu to 6544 points and thus reached fourth place behind the Russian Tatjana Tschernowa, the British Jessica Ennis and the German Jennifer Oeser . In 2016, Chernova was subsequently stripped of the gold medal, the others moved up one rank and Karolina Tymińska was third in the world championship. In the 2012 Olympic year, Karolina Tymińska took fourth place at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul with 4725 points . At the 2012 Olympic Games , she did not make a valid attempt in the long jump, after which she gave up. In 2013 she reached ninth place at the World Championships in Moscow with 6270 points. In the following year she took part in front of a Polish audience at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot and finished eighth with 4557 points.
Karolina Tymińska was three times Polish champion in heptathlon (2006, 2007, 2011) and once over 100 meter hurdles. There are also eight titles in the hall, five of them in the pentathlon (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2016), two in the long jump (2007, 2008) and one in the 60-meter run (2010). She is 1.78 m tall and her competition weight was 64 kg.
