The 1998/99 season was the seventh season of the Kazakh ice hockey professional league . Four clubs took part in the competition. HK Bulat Temirtau secured the title of Kazakh Master for the first time .

After a two-year break, Awtomobilist Karaganda , who had previously participated in the game operation as Stroitel Karaganda , returned to the championship operation. For the first time for the championship Amid Rudny and HK Schenis Astana reported . Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk waived participation in the championship round and could not expand the series of six championship titles in a row.

Championship course

Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk played in the course of the season exclusively in the one-time, second-rate league of the Russian Ice Hockey Association (FHR) and did not participate in the Kazakh championship. The second team Torpedos was represented in the third class Pervaya League , but for the first time did not play in the Kazakh championship. Preliminary round

Final round

In the final round, Amid Rudny defeated HK Schenis Astana just 5: 4 and thus confirmed the victory from the preliminary round. In the championship game, HK Bulat Temirtau lived up to his role as favorite and defeated Awtomobilist Karaganda 10: 6.
