Kasper Fabian Gottlieb von Luck (born October 2, 1723 in Malsow ; † June 15, 1797 in Münchhofe, Münsterberg district ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 53 and governor of Alt Ruppin .

Kaspar Fabian Gottlieb was the son of the Prussian lieutenant Friedrich Wilhelm von Luck (* around 1694 - 13 July 1746), heir to Malsow and Schönow, patron of Ostrow near Sternberg, and his wife Elisabeth Beate von Knobelsdorff (* 11 July 1704 ; † March 3, 1765) from the Topper house.

Military career

In 1740 he came to the court of King Friedrich II as a page . In 1743 he was transferred to the 38th Infantry Regiment "Hager" as Prime Lieutenant . As early as 1745 he became a staff captain and on February 2, 1750 he received his own grenadier company. In 1757 he became a major , and in 1764 a lieutenant colonel and commander in the "Fouqué" regiment No. 33 . On August 28, 1767 he became a colonel and on February 12, 1772 the commandant of Glatz Fortress . A little later on July 4, 1773, the newly established Fusilier Regiment No. 53 and on June 13, 1774 he was appointed major general. On June 13, 1780, he retired at his own request.

Since 1744 he had participated in all of Frederick II's campaigns. He fought in the battles of Hohenfriedberg , Prague , Breslau and Kunersdorf . In the latter he was wounded. He was also shot during the siege of Schweidnitz. In 1760 he commanded a battalion of volunteers in the battle on Basberg and received the order Pour le Mérite for his bravery . In 1765 he received the administration of Alt Ruppin. During the War of the Bavarian Succession , the regiment still had security tasks.

family

Luck was since July 31, 1753 with Ernestine Caroline von Luck (* April 24, 1738 in Stettin; † October 14, 1812 in Breslau), daughter of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Christoph Franz von Luck (* December 12, 1688; † April 4, 1743 ) and Barbara Eleonore (Constantine) von Niesemeuschel († 1739) married. With her he had three sons.
