The cadastral community of St. Georgen am Längsee is one of six cadastral communities in the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia . It has an area of ​​946.89 hectares.

The cadastral community belongs to the district of the Klagenfurt land surveying office.

location

The cadastral municipality is located in the north of the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee, in the south of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, northeast of the district capital. In terms of landscape, it includes parts of the Sankt Veiter Hügelland including the longitudinal lake . It stretches from the Wolschartwald in the north to Fiming in the south and from Siebenaich in the west to Rottenstein Castle in the east. The cadastral community extends over an altitude of 544  m above sea level. A. am Lavabach on the southern border up to 737  m above sea level. A. on the Kleiner Otwinskogel .

Localities

As is often the case in Carinthia, the boundaries of this cadastral community often run along roads and thus cut through settlements. Only the villages of Mail-Süd , St. Georgen am Längsee and Wolschart are entirely in the area of ​​the cadastral community of St. Georgen am Längsee . The localities of Bernaich , Dellach , Drasendorf , Fiming , Rottenstein , St. Peter and Töplach, all of which are part of the municipality of Sankt Georgen, are partly in the area of ​​the cadastral municipality of St. Georgen am Längsee .

At the end of the 18th century, the Carinthian tax communities (later: cadastral communities) were formed and assigned to tax districts. The tax district St. Georgen am Längsee was formed from the tax community of St. Georgen am Längsee .

In the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/1849, the tax districts in Carinthia were dissolved and local communities were formed, each comprising the area of ​​one or more tax communities. The tax and cadastral municipality of St. Georgen became part of the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee . The size of the cadastral community was given in 1854 as 920 Austrian yokes and 1565 fathoms (approx. 530 hectares, that is only slightly more than half of today's area); at that time 295 people lived in the area of ​​the cadastral community. In the course of the municipal structural reform in Carinthia, the cadastral community of St. Georgen am Längsee was enlarged by a good 4 km² in 1972 to include the area of ​​Mail-Süd, Bernaich and the Wortschartwald.

The cadastral community of St. Georgen am Längsee belonged from 1850 to the political district of Sankt Veit an der Glan and the judicial district of Sankt Veit an der Glan . From 1854 to 1868 it belonged to the mixed district of Sankt Veit an der Glan . Since the reform in 1868, it has again been part of the political district of Sankt Veit an der Glan and the judicial district of Sankt Veit an der Glan.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 112 building areas with 49,851 m² and 85 gardens on 219,656 m² in the cadastral community of St. Georgen am Längsee , in 1989/1990 there were 186 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 470 and in 2009/2010 there were 249 buildings on 469 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 319 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 85 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 372 hectares and 387 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 346 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 393 hectares. The average soil climate number of St. Georgen am Längsee is 40.6 (as of 2010).
