Wiendorf is a village in the municipality of St. Georgen am Längsee in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia . The village has 13 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies in the area of ​​the cadastral communities Gösseling and Launsdorf .

location

The village is located in the southeast of the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan, in the east of the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee, on the eastern edge of the Launsdorfer valley . In the area of ​​the village, the Elsgrabenbach forms the border between the cadastral communities of Gösseling and Launsdorf.

history

The place has been mentioned in a document since 1584; the place name is perhaps derived from a Middle High German word for willow .

Lying in the area of ​​the tax communities Gösseling and Launsdorf, the place belonged to the tax district Osterwitz in the first half of the 19th century . Since the formation of the local parishes in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Wiendorf has belonged to the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee.

The small town is now dominated by the Dienstlgut, which was expanded by Wolfgang Kulterer into an equestrian center with a hotel in the 1990s . The service has been owned by Kurt Daell since 2011.
