In the middle of the 20th century, there was only one house in the area of the present-day town, which at that time was still in the cadastral municipality of Dielach, which belonged to the municipality of Meiselding at the time , without being specifically named in the local register.
After the construction of the Friesacher Straße, the area of today's village of Mail-Süd was connected to the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee as part of the Carinthian municipal structural reform in 1972; the cadastral boundaries were also changed, so that the area of today's village of Mail-Süd has since been in the area of the cadastral municipality of St. Georgen am Längsee. Since a few houses were built on the other side of Friesacher Strasse, in the municipality of Mölbling, a distinction has been made between Mail (Mölbling municipality) north of Friesacher Strasse and Mail-Süd (Sankt Georgen am Längsee) south of Friesacher Strasse. On the other hand, the houses in the village of Siebenaich , which adjoin to the southwest in 1890 and in the following decades, are still called Mail , are not officially called Mail or Mail-Süd today.
