The Catholic Working Group for Soldiers Care eV (KAS) is a non-profit Catholic association. Since 1956 she has been involved in the off-duty leisure time support for soldiers of the German Armed Forces . The KAS also looks after the relatives of soldiers and the civilian population living on site. The association is a member of the German Caritas Association . The work of the KAS is financed by the Catholic Military Bishop and the Federal Minister of Defense as well as by means of self-generated funds. The KAS is “there” for members (members of the armed forces and their family members) at around 60 locations in Germany and in the Bundeswehr deployment areas together with the Evangelical Working Group for Soldiers Care eV (EAS) .

Fields of activity

Family care

Social work among members of the armed forces and their families with the following objectives:

  • Strengthening soldiers' families and their family cohesion
  • Promote communication and mutual understanding
  • Increase individual resistance to stress
  • Provide assistance with individual questions for soldiers' families
  • Provide rest and relaxation
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the special life situation of soldiers' families in civil society
  • Bringing the needs and feelings of relatives into the Bundeswehr context and the development of new offers

    • Specialist lectures, workshops, theme days, weekend and week-long seminars, e.g. B. for deployment preparation, deployment support and deployment follow-up

Leisure care

  • Advice, planning, organization and implementation of events and events at locations in Germany and abroad

The work of the association is supported by the Catholic Family Foundation for Soldiers based in Berlin-Marienfelde , which promotes family work in the Catholic military pastoral care.
