Katelyn "Katie" Bethke (born September 3, 1988 in Eau Claire , Wisconsin ) is an American football player .
Career
society
Bethke began playing soccer at her hometown club Eau Claire United and was primarily active for the Minnesota Golden Gophers , the University of Minnesota college team , from 2007 to 2010 . In addition to her assignments for the Gophers, she played in 2008 for the Boston Renegades and from 2009 to 2010 for Ottawa Fury in the W-League . At the beginning of 2011 she signed a contract with Atlanta Beat in the WPS , but moved to Arna-Bjørnar in the Norwegian Toppserien the following summer . There she scored six goals in 13 games and finished the season with her team in fourth place in the table.
In January 2012 she finally signed a six-month contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen . There she made her debut on February 26, 2012 in the away game against Turbine Potsdam and scored her first Bundesliga goal on March 25, 2012 in the game against Hamburger SV with the goal of the interim 1: 1. After the season, Bethke returned to the United States before joining the Norwegian first division promoted Avaldsnes IL in 2013 . With Avaldsnes she reached the final of the Norwegian Club Cup in 2014, but lost to Stabæk 0-1. In the summer of 2014, she moved to league rivals Grand Bodø IK , but could not prevent relegation to the 1st Divisjon.
At the beginning of the 2015 season, he moved to Sweden to Mallbackens IF , who had recently been promoted from Elitettan to Damallsvenskan . After she was used in the first seven games of the season over the full season, she moved to Eskilstuna United in the summer league .
National team
From 2010 to 2011, Bethke played six games for the U-23 selection of the US Football Association .
