history

On November 9, 1121, the then village of Kauritz was first mentioned in a document. Kauritz has a curiosity: the Saxon - Thuringian border ran through the town until 1928 . The state border between Kauritz (Saxon part) and Kauritz ( Saxony-Altenburg or Thuringia part) ran in strips within the Kauritz corridor, whereby the Saxon part, which consisted of several individual parcels, was an exclave in the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . In 1701 there was a fire in the village.

Kauritz (Saxon share)

Kauritz (Saxon part) consisted of several separate parcels, which were mainly located on the Galgenberg southeast of Kauritz and east of the Meerchens. Kauritz (Saxon part) belonged to the Schoenburg dominions until the second half of the 19th century . It was administered as an official village by the Schönburg rule Glauchau , Amt Hinterglauchau .

After an administrative reform was carried out in the area of the Schönburg recession in 1878, Kauritz (Saxon share) came to the newly established Glauchau administration in 1880 . The Saxon part had 113 inhabitants at that time. Besides the inn, it consisted of only a few houses. In 1902 he got his own school, and the ground floor of a house was rented for this purpose. The exclave of Kauritz (Saxon share) had belonged to the Free State of Saxony since 1918.

Kauritz (altenburg. Or thür. Share)

Kauritz (altenburg. Share) belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century onwards due to several divisions during its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603) , Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine Duchies were reorganized in 1826, the Altenburg part of Kauritz was again part of the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. The manorial rule over Kauritz (Altenburg. Share) lay with the Ponitz manor until the 19th century . After the administrative reform in the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg, Kauritz (Altenburg. Share) belonged to the Eastern District (until 1900) and to the Ronneburg District Office (from 1900). In 1885, 153 ha and 73 a with 75 inhabitants belonged to the Thuringian part, around 1900 there were 198 inhabitants.

From 1918 Kauritz (altenburg. Share) belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which in 1920 became part of the State of Thuringia . In 1922 he came to the Altenburg district . He was incorporated into Gößnitz on August 1, 1924 through the district division law.

History of Kauritz since 1928

In 1928 there was an exchange of territory and a border adjustment between the Free State of Saxony and the State of Thuringia. In the Thuringian-Saxon State Treaty of December 7, 1927, the territories that changed countries were set in advance. The draft law dates from March 15, 1928. As a result, the part of Kauritz , which was previously a Saxon exclave in Thuringian territory, was completely ceded to Thuringia and incorporated into the Thuringian city of Gößnitz.

During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus Kauritz came as the district of Gößnitz with the county Schmölln to the district of Leipzig , since 1990 as a county belonged to Schmölln Thuringia and the Thuringian district reform in 1994 opened Altenburger in the district of the country.
