Kees Zwamborn (born March 28, 1952 in Alblasserdam ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach . The defensive and midfielder, who came to MSV Duisburg from Ajax Amsterdam in 1981, played 18 league games for MSV in the Bundesliga in the 1981/82 season .

career

Zwamborn played actively for FC Vlaardingen , Ajax Amsterdam , MSV Duisburg and NAC Breda . From 1978 to 1981 he was active at Ajax Amsterdam and was part of the two championship teams of 1979 and 1980 alongside teammates such as goalkeeper Piet Schrijvers , Ruud Krol , Simon Tahamata , Frank Arnesen and Søren Lerby . In the 1980/81 season, Zwamborn was runner-up with Ajax in the Eredivisie, he also played for Ajax in the two games in the European Cup in October / November 1980 against FC Bayern Munich (1: 5, 2: 1). When MSV Duisburg was immediately and massively involved in the relegation battle at the start of the first half of the 1981/82 season, the blue-whites signed it at the end of November. The Ajax man made his debut on November 28, 1981 in a 2: 3 away defeat at SV Darmstadt 98 in the Bundesliga. One day later, on November 29th, coach Friedhelm Wenzlaff was dismissed and replaced by Kuno Klötzer . At the end of the round, the "Zebras" were relegated from the Bundesliga with 19:49 points. Zwamborn had played 18 Bundesliga games alongside other players such as Gerhard Heinze , Herbert Büssers , Bernard Dietz , Frank Saborowski , Manfred Dubski , Thomas Kempe , Guido Szesni , Uwe Helmes and Rudolf Seliger . He went to the 1982/83 round in the 2nd Bundesliga, but saw no improvement. Under the new coach Siegfried Melzig (in office until April 1983) the Bundesliga relegated was far from being promoted and was only able to occupy 11th place under his successor Luis Zacarias . Zwamborn had scored a goal in 30 second division games. He ended his activity with the blue and whites and joined the NAC Breda for the 1983/84 season and returned to the Netherlands.

After the end of his active career he worked as a trainer at Feyenoord Rotterdam , FC Den Bosch , NAC Breda, Willem II Tilburg , FC Sunderland and the national football team of Suriname .
