history
The establishment of the school as a royal trade school dates back to 1869. In 1877, like all Bavarian commercial schools, it was converted into a secondary school and in 1927 expanded to a nine-level upper secondary school . In 1945 classes were discontinued due to the war. In 1946 it reopened as a high school for boys , shortly afterwards the school was renamed Oberrealschule back. In 1965 the institute was restructured into a mathematical and natural science grammar school, now known as the Kepler grammar school .
At the beginning of the 2009/10 school year, gifted classes were set up. Possible foreign language consequences are:

Since December 2015 there has been close contact with the Albert Schweitzer School Kassel and the Humboldt Gymnasium Radeberg. In addition, the "Student Research Workshop" with the OTH Amberg-Weiden and partners from the economy has been in place since 2018.
- Federal-state initiative "We can do more!"
Project, accompanied by 30 scientists from 16 universities. 300 schools take part, including only 13 high schools
- Individual support within the class
Pilot project that takes into account the different learning speeds of the students
- Model classes
The school is one of the eight high schools in Bavaria where particularly talented pupils are encouraged in their own "gifted classes" (grades 5–10).
