Kerstin Muschet (born December 25, 1988 in Villach ) is an Austrian biathlete and cross-country skier .

Kerstin Muschet starts for Union Rosenbach . She made her international debut at the start of the 2009/10 season as part of the IBU Cup in Idre . In her first race, a sprint, she finished 88th; in the following sprint in the same place she won first points in 39th place. At the beginning of the World Cup in the 2009/10 season, she also made her World Cup debut in Östersund , where Muschet was 105th in her first individual. So far there have only been further missions in the relay, where she contested the first World Cup race of an Austrian women's relay in Östersund together with Iris Waldhuber , Ramona Düringer and Romana Schrempf . In 2011 she achieved her best season result as 14th in Oberhof . A 17th place in a pursuit race in Haute-Maurienne was the best result so far in the IBU Cup. The highlight of the first season was participation in the European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where Muschet was 50th in the individual, 39th in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit. Nationally, Muschet won the silver medal behind Waldhuber at the Austrian Biathlon Championships 2010 from roller skis in Hochfilzen .

Before Muschet switched to biathlon in 2009, she was active as a cross-country skier and was at times considered one of the greatest talents in Austria. In 2006, the then athlete from the Sport- Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Spittal won two titles at the Austrian youth championships in St. Jakob . She competed in her first international races in 2005 as part of the FIS races, later races in the cross-country Alpine Cup were added. At the Nordic Junior World Championships 2006 in Kranj Muschet ran in the sprint to tenth place and was 71st in the pursuit race. In the same year in Düsseldorf he made his debut in the Cross-Country World Cup with results 52 in the sprint and 19 with Kateřina Smutná in the team sprint. At the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio in 2007 the ranks 39 in the sprint and 35 in the 5-kilometer freestyle were added. In 2007 she ran again in the World Cup in Düsseldorf and was 52nd in the sprint and again with Smutná 16th in the team sprint. The last Junior World Championship was held in Muschet in 2008 in Malles . Here she took tenth place in the sprint, was 36th in the 5-kilometer classic, 56th in the 10-kilometer freestyle and 15th with the Austrian relay. She was able to win FIS races three times.
