The Perlenheimer Bach is a 3 km long, orographically left tributary of the Rodenbach on the northeastern edge of the Palatinate Forest on the locality marker of Kerzenheim in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The Perlenheimer Bach rises in the far north of the district that gives it its name to the parish, which gives it its name, in a little over 260  m above sea level. NHN on the west side of the state road  449, which leads south from Göllheim in the north to Kerzenheim. It runs its first 700 meters as a bare rain and path ditch at some distance from the road, until higher vegetation appears on its bank for the first time.

After about 1.6 km, after crossing under the main road, the Kerzenheimer Bach enters the urban area of ​​Kerzenheim near the entrance to the B 47 , where it is turned over. Here it is only 500 m as the crow flies from the Rodenbach, from whose floodplain only a low range of hills separates it, and it bends towards the east in its running direction, whereby its speed is considerably reduced. To the east of Gustav-Heinemann-Straße it flows openly again between the younger residential buildings and on the outskirts. Here and on the following half a kilometer underflow over open fields, it is mostly ditch without woody vegetation.

After a total of 3.2 km , the Kerzenheimer Bach flows into the Rodenbach from the left and at a height of almost 190  m , just before it crosses the state road to Ebertsheim (L 452).

Catchment area

The Kerzenheimer Bach drains 2.6 km² in the transition area between Göllheimer Hügelland in the north, stump forest in the west and Eisenberger Becken in the south in a south-easterly direction to the Rodenbach. A small part of the area on its western edge are wooded hills of the stump forest, the next larger is the settlement area of ​​the eponymous candle home, the largest consists of arable land and fields. In the northwest the catchment area of ​​the Rothenbergerbach borders west of Göllheim, in the north and northeast that of the Königsgraben, which flows through this place; both drain over the Hasenbach into the Pfrimm . In the south-east, the short Kerzenheimer Steinbach, which flows a little downwards from the Kerzenheimer Bach also into the Rodenbach, competes with the Rodenbach itself in the south Göllheimer Kriegsberg is the highest point in the catchment area at around 305  m .
