Kevin Reynolds (born July 23, 1990 in North Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian figure skater who starts in a single run . He is the 2013 four continents champion .

Career

Reynolds began figure skating at the age of four. At the age of twelve, in 2003, he won the Canadian championships in his age group. In 2004 he became Canadian Vice Junior Champion and ran from then on with the seniors. In 2008 he landed a quadruple-triple-triple combination in his freestyle at the Canadian Championships, a national record. After Yevgeny Pljuschtschenko , he is only the second figure skater to have shown such a combination in the new point system. In 2009 he was third in the national championships. In 2010 he won the bronze medal at the Four Continents Championships and finished his first world championship in eleventh place.

After he could not build on the performance of the previous season in the 2010/11 season, he showed himself again at the World Cup in 2012 and reached twelfth place as Canadian runner-up. He also showed a four-fold Salchow in an artistically demanding freestyle .

After showing a strong performance at the Canadian Championships, Reynolds surprisingly managed to win the Four Continents Championships in 2013 . In Osaka he relegated the favored local hero Yuzuru Hanyū to second place. He achieved a new personal best of 250.55 points after the short program and freestyle. In his freestyle, Reynolds made three quadruple jumps. At the World Championships in London , Canada , Reynolds achieved his best result at world championships with fifth place .

Reynolds is trained by Joanne McLeod and Bruno Marcotte .
