Kim Kyung-wook ( kor. 김경욱 ; born April 18, 1970 ) is a former South Korean archer .

Career

Kim Kyung-wook was appointed to the South Korean national team for the first time at the age of 17. In 1989 she took part in her first world championship and immediately won the gold medal with the team. In the individual competition, she was also able to win the silver medal. She missed the 1992 Summer Olympics after failing in the national eliminations. Due to her age, she had already missed the 1988 games in her native Seoul . Kim Kyung-wook, however, successfully qualified for the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta , where she won the gold medal both with the team and in the individual discipline . In the final of the individual she defeated the Chinese He Ying with 113: 107 points. Together with Kim Jo-sun and Yoon Hye-young , Kim Kyung-wook set a new world record in the ranking round of the team competition with 661 points. After the games, she ended her career in competitive sports and married her compatriot Lee In-hun , who was also active as an archer. She celebrated her comeback at the 2001 World Cup in Beijing and won silver again in the individual twelve years after her first medal. With the team she was also able to win the bronze medal. She then ended her career for good.
