Kingsoft ( Chinese : 金山 软件; pinyin: jīnshān ruǎnjiàn ; literally: " Gold Mountain Software ") is a Chinese software company with research and development centers and offices in Beijing , Chengdu , Dalian , Zhuhai , Hong Kong and the United States and over 900 employees. The company's focus is on the development of software for the Internet and Microsoft Windows systems.
The company also founded Cheetah Mobile , a global leader in the development of mobile apps and provider for mobile Internet, and worked on various security software . The company gained international fame through WPS Office , which is a cheaper alternative to Microsoft Office .

history
Kingsoft was founded in 1988 by the Kingsun company in Hong Kong by Pak Kwan Kau. Kingsun was a manufacturer of IBM - PCs , was established in the 1,973th In 1993 another branch was opened in Zhuhai and in 1994 the headquarters were relocated to Beijing .
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Kingsoft researched and developed word processors and other office applications , such as its flagship product Word Processing System 1.0 , which launched in 1989 . The product was later renamed Kingsoft Office and then WPS Office. This product has over 1 billion registered users, according to Kingsoft.
Beijing Kingsoft Entertainment Company was established in 2003 and Beijing Kingsoft Security Company in 2009 .
Kingsoft has established collaborations with large companies such as Dell , Intel , Dropbox , Lenovo and IBM .
