Kirchberg Siedlung was founded after the Second World War to create living space for workers in the newly opened coal mine in Trimmelkam , which was closed again in 1993. This was reflected in the strongly fluctuating population of the village.
Kirchberg Siedlung has a stop for the Salzburg S-Bahn , but the stop is named after the nearby village of Wildshut.
