description

The church patronage was assigned to the Cronschwitz monastery in 1302 by Heinrich I , the Vogt of Plauen . Of today's hall church , only the rectangular choir tower is late Gothic . The tracery windows in the choir were lost. The sacristy , which is covered with a groin vault , was attached to the north side of the tower . Your door has a cantilever arch . In 1774/75 the nave was rebuilt . The top floor of the tower is octagonal. It has been covered since 1793 with a slate-roofed curved hood on which a lantern with a tower ball sits. The slate covering on the hipped gable roof of the nave had to be replaced by roof tiles .

The interior has three-sided galleries and is covered with a cove-shaped ceiling . The last major redesign took place in 1969. The second floor of the galleries on the long sides was demolished. The pulpit is painted with Jesus Christ and the evangelists . The sound cover is on the south side of the triumphal arch , which connects the choir with the nave, it bears the year 1787. Three new bells came in 1969 to Paitzdorf. They were cast by Schilling in Apolda in 1959 and were actually intended for the church in Culmitzsch , which had to give way for uranium mining .

The organ with 16 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1755 by Christian Gottlob & Gotthold Heinrich Donati . It was rearranged in 1862 and moved to the choir gallery.
