history

The church dates from the 15th century. Before the introduction of the Reformation in the Duchy of Pomerania , it was a branch church of the Anklam Marienkirche , after which the pastors of Blesewitz and Teterin took over the local pastoral care. The general superintendent Jacob Runge assigned the church to the Bargischow church in 1560 with the consent of the Anklam council and the pastor of the Marienkirche . Presumably in the 18th century, the windows and the west and south portals were redesigned in Baroque style. In the 19th century restored church building. In 1945, the interior was largely destroyed in the Second World War . In November 2012, the sacred building had to be closed due to the poor structural condition due to dry rot infestation . In 2014 the roof and the west gable were renovated. The church was drained in 2015 and the ceiling was renovated.

Building description

The church, which is now plastered, was built from field stone with a rectangular floor plan. The choir is straight and has not moved in. On the east wall are two small, segment-arched windows. Above it is a plastered band and the gable with a cantilever . It carries a bell with a gable roof over it .

The north and south walls of the nave are largely symmetrical. Three windows in the form of segment arches were installed over the facade. On the south side there is a gate between the middle and the east window.

Another gate - the only opening - of the same type is on the western side of the nave.
