Rippersroda Church

The Evangelical Lutheran , listed church Rippersroda is in Rippersroda , a district of the town of Plaue in the Ilm district of Thuringia . The parish Rippersroda belongs to the parish area Geratal in Kirchenkreis Arnstadt-Ilmenau the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church was built in the 17th century, including the previous building. The nave and the choir have a rectangular floor plan . In the east there is a small extension for the sacristy and in the west a half-timbered porch . On the west side of the mansard roof rises a slate-covered square roof tower with a pointed, eight-sided helmet .

The interior of the nave has two-story galleries , the flat ceiling above is made of wood. The nave is covered with a wooden barrel vault between the galleries . To the east, the nave opens to the sacristy through a profiled round arch . In the arch is the pulpit altar from the 18th century. The organ with 11 registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal , was built by Ludwig Ratzmann in 1861 . Restored in 1885.
