With the amalgamation of the upper and lower deserts and the incorporation of Wüstens into Bad Salzuflen and the allocation of (new) street names, the property was given "Oberwüsten Nr. 37" (since 1766) or "Oberwüsten Nr. 157" and "Lemgoer Straße 24" (since 1939) the address "Kirchheider Straße 24".

History and description

A house built on this spot in 1611 was first mentioned in the state treasury register in 1616. The resident at that time had to pay “ 2 Gense and 1 Rauchhuhn ” in cash and, as the son of the desert (?) Krug host, transported “ Mindner Bier ”.

The building is a single-aisled wall stud construction from the early 17th century, four containers in length. There are three chain bars in the wall structure, corner and center posts on the gable sides are braced with curved headbands against the attached roof beams. Both gables are cantilevered on mortised beam heads and boarded up. The steep gable roof is covered with old hollow pans. Inside in the left half there is a continuous deel-like room up to the roof beam position, the right nave is divided by a false ceiling.

The archway inscription of the farmhouse built as part of the "Schuckmann / Nirhausmeier" farmhouse reads:

"ANNO 1657 JULY 24 BERNDT SCHUKMAN AND HIS WIFE BUILT IDEKE DISS HOUSE MASTER HEINRICH IM BUSCH"
00000000

The building was originally used as a warehouse or bakery . Over the years it was expanded twice: first, under the left eaves, probably in the 18th century with a four-fold long stable with a monopitch roof , and in the 19th century with a rear extension, also four times longer with its own saddle roof and boarded back gable .

monument

During the 21st meeting of the Main Committee of the City of Bad Salzuflen in the 1989/94 electoral period, it was decided to enter the farmhouse in the list of monuments in accordance with § 3 DSchG NW.

The well-preserved building is particularly suitable for providing authentic and well-founded information on the economic methods and forms of living of the unpaid population from the 17th to 19th centuries using a striking example. The building is an important historical testimony to the former rural and rural character of the desert in the district, which is largely characterized by the renewed building stock.

At its preservation and. According to § 2. (1) DSchG, use is in the public interest for scientific (building type and structural), folklore and urban planning (settlement history) reasons.
