The Bismarck Tower Bad Salzuflen is an 18 meter high Bismarck Tower on the Vierenberg between Wüsten , Schötmar , Hollenstein and Bad Salzuflen in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Lippe in Germany .

The tower was built according to a design by Böhmer in Detmold . The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 1, 1900, Otto von Bismarck's birthday . Governor Theodor Heldman gave the speech in front of about a thousand members of the singing, gymnastics and warrior clubs from the district. Half a year later, on October 14, 1900, the anniversary of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig, the tower made of hewn sandstone and brickwork was inaugurated. The construction costs amounted to 12,000 marks ; Of this, 8,000 marks were brought in through a “fair for the best of the fund for the Bismarckthurm” and part of it was donated by Hoffmann's starch factories .

From the viewing platform, the view extended over Bad Salzuflen, the Teutoburg Forest with the Hermannsdenkmal , the Lippe mountainous region to the Kaiser Wilhelm monument at the Porta Westfalica .

After a renovation in 1999 , the tower was closed in 2003 due to the risk of collapse. After a further renovation, it was reopened on January 11, 2005. The Bismarck Tower is open at certain times.
