Klaus Ahlheim

Klaus Ahlheim (born March 28, 1942 in Saarbrücken ; † June 17, 2020 ) was a German educationalist .

Life

After 1945, Klaus Ahlheim grew up in Bensheim and graduated from the König-Heinrich-Schule in Fritzlar in 1962 .

In 1962 he began studying Protestant theology in Marburg , then studied in Berlin and up to the first theological exam in 1968 in Mainz. In 1968 he studied sociology , political science and history in Marburg. In 1971 he started his vicariate in Ingelheim am Rhein . 1972 doctorate Ahlheim in Munich on the sociology of religion Weber Dr. theol. In 1972 he became a student pastor in Frankfurt am Main .

In 1976 Ahlheim received his diploma in educational science from the University of Frankfurt; In 1981 he completed his habilitation in educational science (with a focus on adult education) and became a private lecturer. In the same year he became professor for adult education at the Philipps University of Marburg . There he was for several years a member of the convention, the senate and the teaching and study committee, as well as being dean of the educational sciences faculty in 1987/88 and 1993/94 . In 1994 he became a professor with a focus on political adult education at the University of Essen, later the University of Duisburg-Essen . In 2007 he retired and moved to Berlin .

Ahlheim's work includes numerous publications on basic questions and the effects of political (adult) education, empirical, theoretical and didactic work on the topics of prejudice, xenophobia , anti-Semitism, right-wing extremism and memorial work. He was editor of the series Critical Contributions to Educational Science in Offizin Verlag. Klaus Ahlheim died on June 17, 2020 at the age of 78.
