Klaus Backmund
Klaus Backmund (born May 22, 1929 in Munich ; † February 20, 2020 there ) was a German sculptor .
Klaus Backmund studied sculpture with Josef Henselmann at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He created u. a. numerous works of Christian art , e.g. B. the Saint Korbinian with the bear , bronze cast 1989, in front of the Maxburg and "Daniel in the lion's den" from 1972, the z. It is currently located at Nymphenburger Strasse 1 in the Maxvorstadt district of Munich .
In 2016 Max Backmund was awarded the Schwabing Art Prize.

- Alfred Delp monument in front of St. Georg in Munich- Bogenhausen as well as ambo (1972) and people's altar (2000) in this church
- Furnishings for the St. Albertus Magnus Church in Ottobrunn
- Bronze relief of Pope John Paul II in the Frauenkirche in Munich
- People altars in Altoetting , Bobingen , Kloster Banz , Kloster Ebrach and Beuron .
- Celebration altar, ambo, lecture cross (1987), Bernhard Lichtenberg bust (1992), in the town church of St. Marien (courtyard)
- Furnishings for the parish church of the Most Holy Trinity in Donauwörth-Riedlingen
- Figure of St. Francis in front of the Third Order Clinic in the Munich district of Nymphenburg as well as the altar, ambo, tabernacle , stations of the cross, Mary with the baby Jesus and St. Klara in the house chapel of the hospital.
