Klaus Jürgen-Fischer
Klaus Jürgen-Fischer (born October 23, 1930 in Hüls ; † December 3, 2017 in Rastatt ) was a German painter and professor of painting at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (1983–1995) and editor of several art magazines.
Education
Jürgen-Fischer studied fine arts from 1949 to 1952 at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf and at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart , where he was a student of Willi Baumeister . After a six-month study visit to Paris , he studied philosophy at the Universities of Cologne and Stuttgart from 1953 to 1954 .
Academic career
From 1965 to 1971 he held teaching positions at the University Institute for Art and Craft Education , Mainz , and at the Städel Art Academy , Frankfurt am Main . From 1977 to 1978 he had a teaching position at the University of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe, and then from 1978 to 1980 director of the Institute of Fine Art at the University of Karlsruhe .
Magazines
From 1953 to 1954 he was the editor of the magazine augenblick with E. Walther (publisher: Max Bense ). From 1955 to 1984 he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine Das Artwork , Baden-Baden. In 1960 he founded the magazine Vernissage . In addition, from 1982 to 1984 he headed the editorial department of the quarterly journal Kunstreport of the German Association of Artists , of which he was elected several times between 1971 and 1985.
From 1996 he was President of the Association FORUM D'ART, Château de Vaudrémont near Colombey-les-Deux-Églises and a member of the Free Academy of Arts, Mannheim . In 2011 he lived and worked in Baden-Baden and Château de Vaudrémont ( Colombey les Deux Églises ).
