Klaus Pawlowski (* 1935 in Danzig ) is a German German philologist , speech educator , rhetorician and satirist .

Live and act

After fleeing from his hometown Danzig, Pawlowski grew up in Hachmühlen in the district of Springe in Lower Saxony . After graduating from high school in Hameln , he first completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter . He then studied at the Universities of Tübingen and Saarbrücken . As the first candidate at the DGSS testing center in Saarbrücken (headed by Hellmut Geißner ), he passed the speaker trainer examination in 1961. At the Saarland University , Pawlowski received his doctorate in 1969 with the work “The Pronunciation of French Words in High German” (supervised by Max Mangold ).

Pawlowski worked as a lecturer at the University of Heidelberg , later as an academic senior counselor and head of the speech training department at the University of Göttingen . From 1971 to 1973 he was chairman of the German Society for Speech and Speech Training (DGSS). Until 2003, Pawlowski headed the speech training test center in Göttingen. In addition to his work at the university, he was for many years a lecturer at the central training and further education ( ZFP ) for radio presenters of ARD and ZDF . After his retirement in 1995 he worked as a freelance rhetoric trainer in business and administration. From 2009 to 2019 he held a teaching position for rhetoric at the University of Regensburg .

Pawlowski is a member of the SPD , was involved in the peace movement and founded the cabaret "Society for Peace and Order" in 1983 with like-minded people, which performed nationally for 10 years. From 1997 to 2013 he was on the cabaret stage with his son Peter and Uschi Siemon (“Die Pawlowski forte ”) . Since 1983 he has been writing satirical scenes and texts. His poems appear regularly in the “Truth” section of the Berlin daily taz . Together with the taz authors Peter Köhler and Reinhard Umbach, he founded the “New Göttingen Group”. Since 2018 he has been on stage with the pianist Gerrit Zitterbart with the program "Tea for two".

Writing activity

Already during his apprenticeship, Pawlowski published his first volume of poetry in 1955, “… but your hair has the wind”, and in 1964 the story “Information on a movement” (Marburg sheet printing). During his time as a university teacher, he wrote numerous articles for specialist journals and specialist books on rhetoric . From 1980 to 1985 he was co-editor of the international yearbook Rhetorik (together with Joachim Dyck, Ludwig Fischer,  Walter JensGert Üding ). His satirical texts were published in three anthologies of the "Neue Göttinger Gruppe" and in three of their own volumes of poetry.
