Klaus Veit

Klaus Ferdinand Veit (born June 25, 1955 in Grünstadt ) is a major general a. D. of the army of the Bundeswehr . Most recently he was military vice-president of the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr .

Military career

Veit joined the German Armed Forces in 1974 as an officer candidate in the telecommunications force. From 1976 he studied electrical engineering at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . From 1980 he was used on posts in the telecommunications force. 1986 to 1988 he completed the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . From 1988 Veit was deployed as a staff officer G4 in the Homeland Security Brigade 54 in Trier . From 1990 to 1991 he completed the Italian staff officer course in Civitavecchia . In 1991 Veit became staff officer G3 in the Office for Studies and Exercises of the Bundeswehr in Trier. In 1993 he became the commander of Telecommunications Battalion 1 in Hanover and Rotenburg an der Wümme . In 1995 he became Head of Division III 1 (1) in the Army Office in Cologne . In 1996 he was deployed as deputy head of department in department III 5 basic matters of command support in the army in the command staff of the army in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn . In 1999 Veit became deputy head and assistant to the general manager of the NATO C3 agency in Brussels . In 2000 Veit was transferred to the 7th Panzer Division in Düsseldorf as a G6 staff officer . In 2001 he became Head of Division in Division III 5 in the Army Command in the Federal Ministry of Defense. In 2005 Veit became deputy head of the Federal Office for Information Management and Information Technology of the Bundeswehr in Koblenz . After its dissolution in 2012, Veit became military deputy to the President of the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr. This post was also used for promotion to major general. Veit was retired on May 31, 2018.
