description

The Klausbachhaus is the former residential part of a Zwiehof . The floor plan is almost square, the building is built in mixed construction. The dining cellar and ground floor are solidly bricked with quarry and stone blocks, the wooden upper floor has a three-sided balcony. In contrast to the usual construction method in Berchtesgadener Land, after the relocation the main entrance was not inserted into the eaves side , but into the south-facing gable side . Nevertheless, according to Dieter Meister from Berchtesgadener Anzeiger , the building as a whole represents a “typical Berchtesgaden farmhouse”.

history

The rural property Laroslehen in the Gnotschaft Unterau was probably already equipped with an inheritance letter from 1380 and was registered as a fief . The residential building on it was last rebuilt in 1757, but was later subject to various changes. Shortly before the middle of the 19th century, a wagon and wood shed with a storage facility above was built in the form of an enlarged roof towing system, and the windows were enlarged in the 1930s. The bombing raid on Obersalzberg in April 1944 also destroyed the north wall of the house as well as the basement and the vault of the smoke kitchen .

After parts of the residential building and in particular the attached shed had "advanced into decay" by the beginning of the 1990s, it was possible to prepare for its relocation and restoration from 1992 thanks to a bequest to the national park . On July 1, 1995, in Ramsau, with the participation of the then Bavarian Environment Minister Thomas Goppel, the building, renamed "Klausbachhaus", was handed over to its new purpose as a national park information point.

Events

In the Klausbachhaus there is a permanent “reading room” for children, in which children's books etc. a. on the subject of “Legends and Myths from the Berchtesgadener Land” as well as “Forest and Game” are available. In addition, groups of children from the national park play a puppet theater built by the national park service.

Another room is u. a. used for a multivision show on the subject of “wilderness under the open sky” and “water - a gift from heaven”.

From June 21 to 24, 2012, the municipality of Ramsau near Berchtesgaden, as the official organizer, hosted an “ Open ExTempore for visual art in the Berchtesgadener Land ” for the first time . Within this time frame, as part of an open art symposium with competitive character, new works of art on the subject of “magic forest” and a landscape motif from the area were created. These Extempore works were then exhibited in the Klausbachhaus and awarded there.
