Climate Foundation Switzerland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swiss Climate Foundation is a foundation active in Switzerland and Liechtenstein . It financially supports selected climate protection measures of small and medium-sized companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Foundation activity

The climate foundation was set up on the initiative of large service companies that wanted to promote climate protection with joint funds. As of 2018, 27 companies are sponsoring the foundation. The foundation awards between one and three million francs a year. It was founded in 2008. Small and medium-sized companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein can apply for money from the Climate Foundation. To do this, they have to plan measures to save energy or develop a climate-friendly product. Small and medium-sized companies that enter into a voluntary target agreement with the federal government on how they can economically save energy can also be funded. To this end, the companies can work together with the Energy Agency for Business (EnAW) or the cleantech agency ACT. Since June 2017, the Swiss Climate Foundation has also been promoting the regeneration of hard-to-reach forests. The aim is to prevent forests from becoming overaged , unstable and becoming a source of CO 2 when they collapse . In the forest program, the foundation works together with WaldSchweiz and the conference of cantonal foresters.
