Rakovica (Hungarian Rákfalu - until 1907 Rakovic ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 609 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Piešťany District , part of the kraj Trnavský belongs.

geography

The municipality is located in the northern part of the Trnavská pahorkatina (part of the Slovakian Danube lowlands ) on the right bank terrace of the Dudváh . The center of the village is at an altitude of 160  m nm and is eleven kilometers from Piešťany .

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1262 as Rokoych .

The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

1943–1945 Rakovice was part of the neighboring municipality Veselé .
