Trebatice (German Trebatitz , Hungarian Vágterbete - until 1907 Trebete ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with a population of 1,359 (December 31, 2019) that the Piešťany District , part of the kraj Trnavský belongs.
geography
The community is located in the north of the Trnavská pahorkatina hills on a floodplain of the Dudváh . The center of the village is at an altitude of 165 m nm and is four kilometers from Vrbové and six kilometers from Piešťany .
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1113 as Trebeta and initially belonged to the dominion of Beckov Castle and later to the Diocese of Neutra until the abolition of serfdom in 1848 . In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the parish of Krakovany . Like other places in the area, agriculture was the main source of income, but the residents were known for growing herbs . In 1828 there are 96 houses and 670 inhabitants.
The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

Buildings
- Roman Catholic St. Stephen's Church in classicist style from 1851
- Marian column from 1851 and a memorial to those who died in the First World War in front of the church

Infrastructure
There is a kindergarten and a primary school in the community, the community also operates a library and there is a post office. The infrastructure including the sewer system is well developed. In terms of traffic, Trebatice is at the intersection of national roads 499 and 504, and the Piešťany junction of the D1 motorway is three kilometers away. The nearest rail connection is Piešťany station on the Bratislava – Žilina railway line, the Piešťany – Vrbové railway line passing by does not carry any passenger traffic.
