history
The present municipality was established in 1991 after a referendum through the merger of the places Kočín (Hungarian : Köcsény ) and Lančár (Hungarian : Lancsár ) with the local government in Kočín.
The place Kočín was first mentioned in writing in 1436 as Kotlyn , while the brook was listed as fluvium Kochyn as early as 1262 . In 1452 12 farms are mentioned, some of which belonged to Guttenstein Castle and the majority belonged to local noblemen. Kočín was one of the poorest estates in the castle, a situation made worse by the Turkish wars in the 16th and 17th centuries. The main sources of income were agriculture, until the 19th century also viticulture, then fruit growing. In 1828 Kočín had 320 inhabitants.
Lančár was first mentioned in writing in 1262 as Kuerencher . The name is said to have been derived from the Slavic name for a potter . A parish is documented in a document from 1332 and the place belonged to the dominion of Guttenstein Castle. In 1869 there are 216 inhabitants in Lančár.
