Hubina (Hungarian Hubafalva - until 1907 Hubina ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 515 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Piešťany District , part of the kraj Trnavský belongs.
geography
The village is located in a valley on the western side of the Považský Inovec Mountains . The Hubinský creek flows through the village and flows into the Waag downstream. The height in the almost 27 km² large municipality ranges from 163 m nm to 758 m nm. The town center is at an altitude of 200 m nm and is eight kilometers from Piešťany .
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1353 as Hwbyna and belonged to the estate of the Tematín Castle . The main source of income was and is agriculture, until the 19th century viticulture was also important. In 1828 there were 77 houses and 531 residents.
From 1976 to 1990 Hubina was part of the Moravany nad Váhom municipality .
