Ko Lai Chak ( Chinese  高 禮 澤 , Pinyin Gāo Lǐzé ; born May 10, 1976 in Chancheng , China ) is a Chinese table tennis player from Hong Kong who won silver in doubles at the 2004 Olympic Games .

Career

Ko Lai Chak was born in China and started playing table tennis when he was ten. Soon he was part of the Chinese national squad, but could not prevail against the strong competition there. Therefore, he used the opportunity to play for Hong Kong in 2000, where he was promoted by the national coach there Chan Kong Wah . Ko Lai Chak is left-handed and plays penholder style.

Ko Lai Chak achieved many successes in doubles with his standard partner Li Ching . With him he won the Asian Championships in 2003 and 2005 and the Asian Games in 2006. At the Asian Championships, he reached the mixed final twice, in 2005 with Zhang Rui and in 2007 with Tie Yana .

From 2001 to 2011 he was nominated for ten world championships . In 2006 and 2008 he was third with the team from Hong Kong, in 2007 he won bronze in doubles. Also at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals , this double made it to the semifinals four times in a row from 2004 to 2007. In 2004 and 2008 he took part in the Olympic Games. He won the silver medal with Ko Lai Chak in 2004, the final against the Chinese Chen Qi / Ma Lin was lost.

In 2007 he was signed by the German Bundesliga club Müller Würzburg .
