Kohbrink
The Kohbrink nature reserve is located north of the Todtenhausen district of the city of Minden and south of the Petershagen-Kernstadt district of the city of Petershagen and west of the federal highway 61 . The area is around 86 hectares and is listed under the number MI-066.
By placing it under protection, the old oak forests on sandy soils and the pedunculate oak - hornbeam forests as a habitat for animals and plants specially adapted to these location conditions are to be secured in their stock within the large-scale Heisterholz forest complex .
Particularly to be protected are alder forests , ash - alder forests , spring areas, reed beds and sedge reeds as well as middle woodpecker , black woodpecker and crested newt .
The Kohbrink nature reserve serves to establish a coherent network of special protected areas as part of the Heisterholz FFH area .
