The Comunanza Cadenazzo / Monteceneri is a common area ( Kommunanz ) in the district of Bellinzona of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

Political Affiliation

The 2.88 square kilometer territory essentially consists of the Alpe di Caneggio and has been owned jointly by two communities for centuries: Medeglia and Robasacco (the former has belonged to the municipality of Monteceneri since 2010 , the latter to the municipality of Cadenazzo since 2005 ). Monteceneri's share is two thirds and that of Cadenazzo one third.

geography

The not permanently inhabited alpine area consists of the easternmost, highest part of the Valle di Caneggio , which starts at the village of Isone .

The Alpe di Caneggio is between 1400 and 1700  m above sea level. M. It is divided into the inferior Corti ( 1421  m above sea level. M. ), Corti di mezzo ( 1471  m above sea level. M. ) and Corti di Campo ( 1600  m above sea level. M. ) and is in the north-west by the 1,703  m high Pizzone di Corgella , bounded in the south by the 2035  m high Cima di Calescio and in the southeast by the 2228  m high Camoghè .

History and future

The Commune of Cadenazzo / Monteceneri was called Commune of Medeglia / Robasacco until the incorporation of Robasacco in March 2005 ( BFS No. 5391; until December 31, 2003: BFS No. 5020).

Due to the merger of the municipality of Medeglia with the other municipalities of the upper Vedeggio valley to form the new municipality of Monteceneri , the municipality of Medeglia / Cadenazzo has again changed its name to the municipality of Cadenazzo / Monteceneri .

Since the new municipality of Monteceneri belongs to the Lugano district, the question of the district affiliation of the municipality also had to be clarified (as previously Bellinzona district or change to the Lugano district). The municipality of Cadenazzo / Monteceneri remains part of the Bellinzona district.
