Kressow is a district of the city of Gommern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt . Kressow has 20 inhabitants (2014).

The small village is located immediately south of the federal highway 184 between Dannigkow and Leitzkau .

In terms of natural space , the place belongs to the Zerbster Land , an arable, open cultural landscape and 536 km² main unit of the superordinate main unit group of the Fläming in the north German lowlands . The Zerbster Land forms the southwestern roof of the Fläming to the Elbe and belongs to the catchment area of ​​this river.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1158 as Crussowe . However, the place became deserted . Settlement was later resumed as a Vorwerk . At the end of the 19th century, a railway line with a gauge of 750 mm was built north of the village, parallel to today's federal road, leading from Loburg to Gommern. In 1960 this line was closed.

On January 1, 2005, Dannigkow and with it the district of Kressow became part of the unified community of Gommern.
