Kristian Flittie Onstad (born May 9, 1984 ) is a Norwegian football player . The defender has played his career so far in his home country and Denmark. In both countries he was in the final of the national cup, but could not win the title.

Career

Onstad started playing football at Gjelleråsen IF , but later moved to Lyn Oslo's youth . There he recommended himself for the Norwegian U-16 selection, for which he first appeared in the summer of 2000. For the then first division club he made his debut at the age of 17 in the Tippeligaen when he came on for Frode Eike Hansen in the 5-2 away win at Stabæk Fotball in August 2001 shortly before the final whistle . In the following years he established himself in the squad of the men's team. While he wavered between the regular formation and the substitute bench, he went through the individual junior national teams. In the course of the 2004 season he fought for a regular place in the defensive row and consequently also defended alongside team captain Tommy Berntsen , Steven Lustü and Yngvar Håkonsen in the final of the Norwegian National Cup against Brann Bergen , which, however, despite a goal by Swedish teammate Peter Markstedt with a 1 : 4 defeat ended. In the following season he played 20 of the 26 season games and was therefore crucial to third place in the table.

After 73 first division appearances for Lyn Oslo, Onstad left Norway in the summer of 2006. The newly signed coach Troels Bech brought him to the Danish club Esbjerg fB in the Superliga in July of that year , where he signed a four-year contract. With the team around Njogu Demba-Nyrén , Martin Vingaard , Jesper Bech and Andreas Klarström , he occupied places in the middle of the league in the following years. In May 2008 he was with the club in the final of the Danish National Cup against Brøndby IF . Although Søren Rieks twice equalized the opponent's lead with goals from Samuel Holmén and Max von Schlebrügge , respectively , the game was lost after a goal from Martin Retov with a 2-3 defeat.

In the first half of the 2008/09 season Onstad continued to play for Esbjerg fB, before returning to Norway on loan in early March of the following year and running for Brann Bergen in the 2009 Tippeligaen season. Shortly after his first appearance for the club in mid-March, however, he was out due to injury for a long time, and it wasn't until August that he played his second appearance in the championship. As a result, he only had eight stakes to book until the end of the loan period, after which he returned to Denmark.

At the beginning of January 2010, Onstad terminated his contract with Esbjerg fB, he was hoping for a new job at Brann Bergen. A few days later, however, he signed a three-year contract with Norwegian league rivals Stabæk Fotball. In the first few games, he lost his place in the squad by the summer, so that the club and the players split again at the end of July.

In early August 2010 Onstad joined the third division Raufoss IL until the end of the season. He then moved to league rivals Ullensaker / Kisa IL , with whom he rose to the second-rate Adeccoligaen at the end of 2011 .
