history
The first railway line from today's rail network of the Kuibyshev Railway was put into operation in October 1874 with the approximately 500 km long Morshansk - Syzran line . When the line was extended to the east in 1880, the Syzran railway bridge was built over the Volga near Samara , the connection to Ufa was completed in 1888 and to Chelyabinsk in 1892 . The state operating company of the network was called Samara-Slatouster Railway from 1890 . By 1919, when the rail network of the western Urals was also assigned to the company, a number of other routes were built, including between Syzran and Simbirsk and there another Volga bridge.
In 1936 the management was renamed the Kuibyshev Railway. The routes leading across the Volga played an important role in the transport of goods in the course of the evacuation of large companies from the European part of the Soviet Union to the Urals and Siberia during World War II .
From 1943, the most important lines of the network were gradually electrified. In 1971 the Kuibyshev Railway was awarded the Order of Lenin .
