Kuo Hsing-chun ( Chinese  郭 婞 淳 , born November 26, 1993 in Yilan , Taiwan ) is a Chinese weightlifter from Taiwan. In 2013 and 2017 she became world champion in duels and jerks in the weight class up to 58 kg body weight.

Career

Kuo Hsing-chun started lifting weights as a teenager. She is a sports student at the National Sports College.

She competed in her first international competition in 2010. She took part in the Youth Olympic Games in Taiwan that year and won the silver medal in the weight category up to 53 kg with a duel of 174 kg (77-97).

In June 2011 she finished 5th at the Junior World Championships (U 20) in Penang in the weight class up to 58 kg, in which she always started from this point on, with an increase to 210 kg (90-120). In September 2011, Kuo Hsing-chun reached at the Asian Championships in Pattaya with 212 kg (92-120) behind Hidilin Diaz from the Philippines, who reached 215 kg (95-120), the 2nd place. In November 2011, she also started at the Women's World Cup in Paris. Her duel performance of 212 kg (94–118) only reached 10th place.

At the Asian Cup in 2012 in Pyeongtaek / South Korea, she increased to 228 kg (98-130) and came in second behind the Thai Pimsiri Sirikaew , 231 kg (100-131). The same performance brought her to the high distance at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She reached 8th place in her weight class. The Olympic champion was the Chinese Li Xueying , who lifted 246 kg (108-138). In November 2012 she started at the Universities World Championship in Eilat. She won it with 232 kg (102-130) behind the Chinese Deng Wei, 244 kg (105-139) the silver medal in a duel.

In 2013, Kuo Hsing-chun competed in three international championships and she won all three. First she was in Astana in June 2013 with a further increase to 236 kg (102-134) Asian champion ahead of the two North Koreans Ri Jong-hwa, 235 kg (105-130) and Jong Chun-mi, 234 kg (104-130) . Then she won in July 2013 at the Universiade in Kazan. Victory achieved there 238 kg (104-134), with which she relegated the Moldovan Christina Iovu, who started for Azerbaijan, 226 kg (100-126) to second place. The world championship this year in Wrocław was the highlight of her career so far. She increased there in a duel to 241 kg (108-133) and thus won the world title in a duel before Maria Alexandra Escobar Guerrero from Ecuador, who came to 225 kg. She also won in the push and came in snatch behind the Chinese Deng Wei, who also managed 108 kg with a body weight a little lighter than her. Deng Wei made three failed attempts in jerks and thus dropped out of the duel.

In 2014 Kuo Hsing-chin could neither win a medal at the Asian Games in Incheon nor at the World Cup in Almaty. In Incheon she came in the weight class up to 58 kg with 219 kg in a duel on 4th place and in Almaty with 223 kg on 5th place. At the 2015 World Cup in Houston , she was more successful again. In her traditional weight class up to 58 kg she came there in a duel to 237 kg (104-133) and came in the duel ranking behind the former Bulgarian Boyanka Kostowa from Azerbaijan, who scored ominous 252 kg (112-140) and then on none international Championship was seen more and Deng Mengrong , 245 kg (108-137) in 3rd place.

At the Asian Championships in Tashkent in April 2016 , Kuo Hsing-chin achieved a very good 238 kg (103-135) in a duel, winning ahead of the Chinese Zhou Jun, 233 kg (103-130) and Li Ping from China, who weighed 230 kg ( 100-130). She also won the silver medal in snatching and the gold medal in thrusting. In August 2016, she was in not that good shape at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She achieved there in a duel 231 kg (102-129) and won behind Sukanya Srisurat , Thailand, 240 kg (110-130) and her compatriot Sirikaew Pimsiri, 232 kg (102-130) the bronze medal. Medals in the individual disciplines of snatching and pushing are not awarded at the Olympic Games.

At the 2017 World Championships in Anaheim, she was 240 kg (105-135) again world champion in duels and jerks in front of the Olympic champion Sukanya Srisurat, who with her duel performance of 225 kg (105-120) is far from her performance in Rio den Janeiro came up in 2016.
