László Kleinheisler (born April 8, 1994 in Kazincbarcika ) is a Hungarian soccer player who currently plays for NK Osijek and since 2015 for the Hungarian national soccer team.

career

society

Kleinheisler has played for the first team of Videoton FC since 2013 . He scored a goal in his first Nemzeti Bajnokság game. Since Videoton had become runner-up in the preseason, the team was for the second qualifying round for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League . Here they failed due to the away goals rule on the sixth of the Montenegrin championship FK Mladost Podgorica . Kleinheisler was substituted on for the last ten minutes in both games.

In the 2014/15 season, in which Videoton became Hungarian champions , he was awarded to league rivals Puskás Akadémia FC after eleven games . After his return, he did not appear in the second qualifying round for the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League , for which Videoton was qualified as champions. Kleinheisler was also no longer considered in the league.

In January 2016, Kleinheisler moved to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga after successfully completing a trial training session . He signed a contract valid until June 2019. He made six Bundesliga appearances and a seven-minute short appearance in the cup semi-final against FC Bayern Munich . In the final phase of the relegation battle, Kleinheisler was no longer used.

For the 2016/17 season , Kleinheisler switched to league rivals SV Darmstadt 98 for a year on loan . There he scored his first Bundesliga goal on October 22, 2016, the 8th matchday, in a 3-1 home win against VfL Wolfsburg . Fearing that he could be used less in the second half of the season, the loan agreement with Darmstadt was terminated and Kleinheisler loaned out to Ferencváros Budapest for the second half of the season. Werder Bremen awarded him to FK Astana for the 2017/18 season ; a purchase option came into effect after ten competitive games. In the winter of 2019, NK Osijek signed Kleinheiser. This change took place free of charge.

National team

On his debut in the Hungarian national team on November 12, 2015 in the first game of the playoffs for the 2016 European Championship against Norway , he scored the goal for his team's 1-0 victory. He was also used in the 2-1 second leg in Budapest , with which Hungary qualified for a European Championship finals again after 44 years.

On May 9, 2016, he was appointed to the provisional EM squad and then also considered for the final squad. After being nominated for the squad, he played an 82-minute mission in the last friendly in the 2-0 defeat against world champions Germany . At the 2016 European Football Championship , Kleinheisler gave the opening match between Austria and Hungary to make it 1-0 and was voted Man of the Match . In the second game against Iceland he played over 90 minutes and was rated by the kicker together with Ádám Nagy as the best Hungarian. After qualifying for the round of 16 prematurely, he was spared in the last preliminary round match because he was charged with a yellow card. Immediately before the knockout game against Belgium, however, he injured himself and was unable to play. The team was eliminated 4-0.
