Ferencváros Budapest

Nagy got his first professional contract with the Hungarian record champions Ferencváros Budapest in 2014 , but was only used in one top division game in his first season. He won his first title with Ferencváros on May 20, 2015, when he played in the cup final , which was won 4-0 against champions Videoton FC , until the 70th minute when the 3-0 fell. Ferencváros won the trophy for the first time since 2004 and won the Supercup against Videoton in July , in which he played for over 90 minutes. Ferencváros drew level with Debreceni Vasutas SC in the number of Supercup victories . As runners-up, they qualified for the 1st qualifying round for the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League , which Ferencváros survived against the Dutch first division relegated Go Ahead Eagles Deventer , who had received the qualification place via the fair play rating. In the next round Ferencváros failed at the Bosnian runner-up FK Željezničar Sarajevo . During the four games he just sat on the bench.

In the 2015/16 season Nagy made 25 appearances under coach Thomas Doll and helped Ferencváros to become champions again for the first time since 2004. In addition, Ferencváros was able to defend the cup with a 1-0 win over local rivals Újpest Budapest , although he was not used in the final.

Bologna FC

On 14 July 2016 it was announced that Ádám Nagy leaves Ferencváros and FC Bologna in Serie A will change. His contract with the Italian first division club runs until June 30, 2021.

National team

Nagy was not part of the Hungarian U-19 team at the 2014 U-19 European Football Championship in his home country, where Hungary qualified for the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand , but he came at the World Cup but used in the Hungarian U-20 team under Bernd Storck . He was used in the three group matches, after which the Hungarians reached the round of 16 as fourth-best group third behind Brazil and Nigeria . He was also used in this, but lost against the eventual world champions Serbia with 1: 2 after extra time. After playing a friendly match for the U-21s on August 12, 2015, Bernd Storck, who now coached the senior national team, brought him to his first international match on September 4 in qualifying for the 2016 European Championship . He was initially not used, but only three days later, on September 7th, the time had come: against Northern Ireland he was substituted on for Ákos Elek for his first international match in the 23rd minute . In the next game against the Faroes , he played over 90 minutes. With a 2: 1 the Hungarians secured at least one place in the relegation of the group third. Due to a 3: 4 defeat against Greece in the last group game, the only victory of the Greeks in the qualification, they still missed the direct qualification as the best group third. Nagy came on as a substitute for Zoltán Gera in the 71st minute of the game . He was only substituted on in the relegation first leg against Norway , and his teammates won 1-0 in Oslo . In the second leg in Budapest he played over 90 minutes again. With a 2-1 victory, the Hungarians qualified for a European Championship finals for the first time since 1972.

On May 9th he was appointed to the provisional European Championship squad and on May 31st he was considered the youngest Hungarian player for the final squad. After being nominated for the squad, he played a 90-minute mission in the last friendly in the 2-0 defeat by world champions Germany , where he was rated third-best Hungarian by the kicker . In the first EM game against Austria he was part of the team. In the second game against Iceland he played over 90 minutes and was rated the best Hungarian by the kicker together with László Kleinheisler . He was spared against Portugal because he was charged with a yellow card and the team had already made it to the round of 16. Against Belgium he was back in the starting line-up, Hungary lost the game and eliminated. In the qualification for the 2018 World Cup , which began after the European Championship , he was part of the team and was used in seven of the first eight games after which the Hungarians no longer had a chance to qualify for the World Cup, as they not only against Switzerland and European champions Portugal but also lost to Andorra . In the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 he came in five of the six games for use, scoring the 2: 0 win over group winners Finland on November 18, 2018 his first international goal. Through the Seg, the Hungarians were second and rose from the C to the B league. In qualifying for the 2020 European Football Championship , he was used in six of the eight group games. In the end, it was only enough for fourth place. But since the Finns were able to qualify directly for the European Championship, the Hungarians as second in their Nations League group still have the chance to qualify via the playoffs in March 2020.
