Nathan Luke Baker (born April 23, 1991 in Worcester ) is an English football player . It is mainly as a central defender used, but can also on the full-back position to act.

Career

Adolescence

Baker was trained in the youth academy of the Premier League representative Aston Villa since he was 13 years old. During this time he was able to celebrate considerable success with the club's youth departments. The U-18 team defeated Manchester City in the final of the Premier Academy League of the 2007/08 season . In the same season he contributed with appearances in the second team of Villans to win the Division South of the Premier Reserve League . Due to his above-average performance, he was already in the first team several times in 2008.

In order to continue Baker to ensure game practice, he was awarded for the 2009/10 season to the fourth division Lincoln City . The loan was initially limited to one month, but Baker was able to convince the club management, so that the contract was extended until the end of the season. In November 2011 Baker was awarded again, as the second division FC Millwall needed a replacement for any personnel bottlenecks. The duration of the loan was therefore limited to one month.

First assignments for Aston Villa

In January 2011 Baker was used in the game against Wigan Athletic for the first time in the Premier League . Further appearances in league and cup followed . In June 2011, his contract was extended by 3 years in order to keep him as a talented long-term club. This was repeated in June 2014 when he extended his contract for another three years.

National team

In the national team, Baker went through all teams from the U-19. He made his international debut with the U-19 in a game against Germany . He later took part in the 2011 U-20 World Cup and qualifying for the 2013 U-21 European Championship .

Ticket incident

In February 2010, Baker came into the limelight when it became known that he was trying to sell his five tickets to the League Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley for £ 200 each via the social network Facebook . Since this violated the statutes of the association, the tickets were withdrawn from him, whereupon Baker apologized for his attempt.
