The Lütje Hörn is a sea sign ship of the Federal Republic of Germany.
history
The ship, the construction of which was commissioned by the then special agency for mechanical engineering in Brake (today's technical department of the Waterways and Shipping Directorate Northwest ), was built in 1990/1991 under construction number 169 at the former aluminum shipyard in Lübeck . The keel was laid on August 1, 1990, christening and launching on October 2, 1991. The ship was completed in November and commissioned in December 1991.
The ship replaced the Lütje Hörn built in 1927 and the sea urchin built in 1958 . The ship is named after the island of the same name east of Borkum .

The ship, built as a catamaran , is used by the Emden Waterways and Shipping Office in its official area on the Ems and in the East Frisian Wadden Sea and the like. a. used for entertainment tasks such as setting pricks . Due to the shape of the hull, the ship can fall dry in mud flats .
Technical data and equipment
The ship is powered by two twelve - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines made by MTU Friedrichshafen (type: 12 V 183), each with an output of 650 kW . The motors act on two fixed propellers via gears . The ship reaches a speed of 15 knots .
For the power supply, the ship has a shaft generator with an apparent power of 49 kVA and a diesel generator with an apparent power of 38 kVA. The ship has ice class E.
