The DRESDEN to RIESA were tender locomotives of the Leipzig-Dresden Railway Company LDE.

history

The DRESDEN locomotive was delivered to LDE in 1844 from Hawthorn , Newcastle upon Tyne / England with the serial number 375. Two further locomotives, largely identical in construction, followed in 1846 with the serial numbers 446 and 447. They were named LEIPZIG and RIESA . In 1856 the locomotives were equipped with Kirchweger exhaust steam condensation .

The locomotives were retired in 1861 and 1867.

description

Forged bar frame in the shape of a ladder (inner frame), additional outer frame, which accommodated the cylinders inclined by 7 degrees. Overhead crosshead guide, the drive was on the 2nd coupled wheel set, both drive axles with springs below, running axle with springs above, directly behind the smoke chamber. Two feed pumps which were driven by an eccentric from the 1st coupling axle, semicircular standing boiler ceiling, boiler cladding consisted of wooden slats with brass bands, dome in the middle of the long boiler, spring-loaded safety valve on the standing boiler ceiling.
