La Primavera is a municipality ( municipality ) in the Vichada department in Colombia .
geography
La Primavera is located at an altitude of about 140 meters in Vichada in the Colombian Llanos on the Río Meta and has an average temperature of 28 ° C. The municipality borders in the north Paz de Ariporo and Trinidad in the Departamento de Casanare and Cravo Norte in the Departamento de Arauca as well as the state of Apure in Venezuela , in the east Puerto Carreño , in the south Cumaribo and in the west Santa Rosalía .

history
La Primavera was founded in 1959 by Raimundo Cruz. Since 1987 the place has the status of a municipality. La Primavera owes its existence to the extensive use of the Llanos as grazing land for cattle herds.
economy
The most important branch of the economy in La Primavera, as in all of the Llanos, is cattle production . There is also the cultivation of cotton , corn and bananas as well as fishing . Increased mining of titanium and crude oil is expected in the future .
traffic
La Primavera can be reached by air from Villavicencio , by river from Puerto Gaitán , and by land from Villavicencio. However, the road conditions can be very bad in the rainy season.
