Langenbrombach , also Langen-Brombach , is a district of the municipality Brombachtal in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse .

Geographical location

Langenbrombach is the only district directly on the Brombach , which gave the municipality of Brombachtal its name. The location extends over three kilometers on both sides of the stream. This expansion makes the name Langenbrombach understandable in and of itself. Coming from the north, the Dorfbach and the Hembach flow into the Brombach.

The district extends in an east-west direction over five kilometers from Mümlingtal to the watershed of the Gersprenz and is mainly used for agriculture. Larger forest areas can only be found in the eastern part around the mountain ridges of Steinert (304 meters) and Eichels (335 meters), where steep slopes reach down into the Mümling floodplain (180 meters).

Above Langenbrombach near the watershed was the central landfill of the waste disposal association Odenwald (MZVO). Systems for generating solar energy were installed on the site.

history

The existence of the place is documented under the name Langenbronbach since 1359.

In the 16th century, Langen-Brombach belonged to the Fürstenauer Seits of the mother church of Ober-Mossau , Langen-Brombach Breuberger Seits to the parish of Kirchbrombach . In 1557 Langen-Brombach Fürstenauer Seits came to Michelstadt after the parish of Ober-Mossau was abolished .

The community of Langen-Brombach was created on May 1, 1949 through the merger of the previously independent communities of Langen-Brombach Fürstenauer Seits and Langen-Brombach Breuberger Seits , which were separated from each other by the Brombach . The Breuberg side lay north of the brook and was the larger of the two suburbs in terms of population and area.

On October 1, 1971, the municipality of Langen-Brombach voluntarily merged with four neighboring municipalities to form the municipality of Brombachtal on the occasion of the regional reform in Hesse . In contrast to the other districts further away from the main town of Kirchbrombach, the community decided not to set up a local district with a local advisory board.

Buildings

The former school house from 1833, a two-storey sandstone building, now converted for residential purposes and used as a registry office, as well as six old half-timbered houses are under monument protection and are included in the list of cultural monuments in Brombachtal .

Transport and infrastructure

The state road L 3414, which comes from Zell im Odenwald , leads through Langenbrombach on the northern Breuberg side with an approximately three kilometer long through-town, which leads up the valley floor of the Brombach to the Spreng , the transition from the Mümling into the Gersprenztal , where it turns into what is known as the Nibelungenstraße Bundesstraße 47 opens. Inwardly, the district road K 86 branches off to the north to the nearby Kirchbrombach, the main town of Brombachtal. Also in the town, the K 89 branches off in a southerly direction to Rehbach .
