Lanny Davis
Lanny J. Davis (born 1946 in Jersey City ) is an American lawyer who served as legal advisor in the White House from 1996 to 1998 .
Life
Lanny Davis's parents were Fran Davis and Mort Davis, a dentist. In 1970 Davis studied at Yale Law School , where he met Hillary Clinton , and earned a Bachelor of Laws there . From 1970 to 1972 Davis led the Youth Coalition for Muskie , who previously served as vice presidential candidate on the side of Hubert H. Humphrey the Republicans Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew was inferior.
From 1975 Davis was a lawyer at Patton Boggs , where he became a partner in 1978. In 1976 Davis lost to Republican Newton Steers in the congressional elections in the 8th constituency of Maryland . From 1980 to 1992 he was a member of the Democratic National Committee .
Davis served as Legal Counsel to the White House under President Bill Clinton from 1996 to 1998 . From 2003 to late 2009, Davis was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe , a conflict communications company for the George W. Bush executive . In June 2005, Bush appointed Davis to the five-member Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board , an advisory body to the president on civil rights .
Davis is treasurer of the political action committee of Joseph Lieberman in early 2009 joined Davis the Israel Project in, a lobbying association that aims to improve Israel's image in the United States. From July to November 2009, "Lanny J. Davis & Associates" from The Business Council of Latin America was entrusted with public relations work for Roberto Micheletti's coup regime in Honduras . From mid-2010 to mid-2011, Davis did $ 1 million public relations work for Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo . In July 2018, he became Michael Cohen's legal advisor .
