Larisch is the name of an old Upper Silesian noble family that comes from Gläsen near Oberglogau .

history

The first documented member of the family is Gottfried von Glezyn , who is mentioned as the son of Arnold and Vogt zu Brzesko on December 6, 1279. The trunk row begins with him . Conradus de Glezyn appears on February 2, 1298 as 'advocatus hereditarius in Glogovia', that is, as hereditary bailiff of Oberglogau. Since 1368 several generations have appeared in a row with the first name Hilarius (vulgo Larisch), so that the family name Larisch has been formed with the loss of the original gender name Gläsen / Glezyn. The sex was widespread in both the Prussian and Austrian parts of Silesia and in the County of Glatz . It still exists today.

Ellguth

The Ellguth tribe of the family was elevated to the Bohemian baron status on August 4, 1654 (for Johann Friedrich Larisch auf Karwin, Imperial Governor of the Duchy of Teschen ). His grandson Franz Freiherr von Larisch, also governor of Teschen, was elevated to the bohemian count on April 24, 1748. On January 24, 1791, Emperor Leopold II granted Johann Graf von Larisch the name and coat of arms unification of his lineage with that of the von Mönnich family. Prussia also recognized the Austrian title, albeit not until June 25, 1900, through Kaiser Wilhelm II under the name of Count Larisch von Mönnich.

Groß-Nimsdorff

For the tribe Groß-Nimsdorff, Prussia had already given permission on February 3, 1830, to use the names of Larisch and Groß-Nimbsdorff for the entire family in Silesia . From this line, Adrian von Larisch and Großnimsdorff on Bulowice, Galicia, received permission to use the name Freiherr von Larisch and Großnimsdorff, after the Groß-Stein family of the Groß-Nimsdorff tribe in the Bohemian region since April 22, 1720 Baron was raised.
